    On its 53rd year, St. Jude General Hospital has broken old conventions as they renovated their halls and rooms by adding a splash of colors…lots of it.

Working with a team of architect of architects and interior designers, St. Jude General Hospital has drawn up plans for a complete renovation of the hospital with an emphasis on color schemes and designs that, accordingly to President Evangeline del Rosario “are meant to please the eyes and soothe the soul.”    Read More

St. Jude Hospital and Medical Center is now Tertiary Level 4 Accredited

    The Department of Health (DOH)-Bureau of Health Facilities and Services conducted an inspections visit to St. Jude Hospital and Medical Center (SJHMC) last February 06, 2007 as part of the accreditation for Level IV of SJHMC.

The objectives of the inspection was to assess the service capability of the institution. Inspectors from the Department of Health were represented by the following: Dr. Nenita Soluta - (Head of the Team) who was in charge of the Hospital Services, Mr. Joselyn Viorge on the Nursing Services, Arch. Benito Gablan on the Maintenance and Engineering Services and Ms. Marieta Go on the Laboratory Services.

In accordance with the said accreditation program, several key officials and department heads were interviewed: Vice President for Operations Dr. Marilyn D. Yap, Assistant Medical Director Dr. Vic Lacandola, Nursing Service Director Mrs. Amy Christine Yap, Laboratory Department Officer, Dr. Sierra Roma Hernandez, Hospital Trainor / Infection Control Officer Mr. Dominador A. Dela Cruz, Pollution Control Officer Mr. Reyman Gaps, Hospital Engineer Eng'r. Jemmalene Rubiano, and Administrative Assistant for Operations Ms. Ava Myla Matalog.

The result of the inspection was very fulfilling. All necessary documents, policies and procedures were all in place in their respective areas / units. Though some deficiencies were pointed out, they were minimal and could be easily complied with. In fact, SJHMC is very confident that the level IV status will be given by the DOH.
