Class Reunion of Batch 1974

Reminiscing the joy of their college years, 33 years back, the St. Jude College (then St. Jude School of Nursing) Batch 1974 gathered for a reunion last January 6 & 7, 2007 at Discovery Suites, Ortigas Center, Pasig City and at a resort in Calauan, Laguna owned by one of the alumni.

The first day of the gathering, the anniversary ball, which was held at the above-mentioned hotel, was attended by 35 of St. Jude College graduates of 1974. The night was full of joy and excitement as after 33 years of distant comradeship, they were once again reunited and were able to catch up with each other’s lives. Fun and surprises were enjoyed by the participating alumni giving color to the gathering as surprise numbers were enthusiastically given by foreign (alumni who are now based abroad) and local (Filipino) delegates, a reminiscing of their friendship through a power point presentation entitled “Then & Now” was presented, games and raffles were done, and our beloved President and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Evangeline A. Del Rosario graced the event with her presence and humble gifts. Also present were Mrs. Consuelto Suelto, fist principal (1968) and Mrs. Josefina Loarca, second principal (1975) of the then St. Jude School of Nursing.

After the anniversary ball, which lasted until 12 midnight, the delegates extended the time to be with each other, and their vacation in the country for the foreign ones, as they tripped to Impee-Sumadsad-Javier’s (one of the alumni) Resort in Caluan, Laguna.

Truly, genuine friendship lasts and conquers time and distance. Despite the length of time of being apart and the different roads they are now traveling, they still managed to see each other again. This would not have been possible without the untiring efforts of the organizers led by Mrs. Franlie J. Bautista (Overall Chairperson), Mrs. Rebecca Capinding-Lagrama and Mrs. Zenaida Avelino-Panlilio (Co-chairperson), and of course, with the cooperation of the other alumni.
